Subsize on brap.fm is on the move! After over two years of Tuesday nights on brap the Subsize bass show is taking over from The Beat Route Sessions every other Wednesday 8 – 10PM GMT.

Getting things kick started we’ve invited Notion into our new Bristol studio for a guest mix and we can’t wait to hear what he’s got in his arsenal. Since his last visit to us and free release over two years ago through the Subsize free download series, this young homegrown talent has gone onto release with both Formula Records and Coyote Records as well as djing both near and far across the UK.

So tomorrow, Wednesday 16th April 8 – 10PM tune into Subsize on brap.fm for a heavy dose of UK Funky, Garage and Grime from Notion and the usual fine mix of house, techno and bass from Subsize main man Tenz and brand spanking new host George Oscar!

Martsman – Shrank / NYCD – Pushing Red – OUT MAY 2013!

martsman

Berlin based Martsman steps up for the latest techno release on Pushing Red. “Shrank” and “NYCD” both weigh in at less than 130 BPM despite bucket loads of shuffle. You’d be forgiven for describing these sounds as garagey.  Shrank has some uplifting progression and plenty of hi-hats and NYCD backs it all up nicely with some dub influenced tripped out sounds.  Another top release from Pushing Red, their third this year in fact.

Debuting on New York based Offshore Recordings in 2005, Martsman released on smaller as well as established labels like Alphacut Records or Counter Intelligence in the following years. In 2008, tracks on Warm Communications and Hospital Records’ sub label Med School attracted the attention of a steadily growing audience also from outside the Drum&Bass scene.

Besides being Producer and DJ, Martsman is also an active member of Hamburg based Label Plain Productions where he is responsible for A&R. Plain Productions was founded in 2001 by Hamburg based DJ, Producer and Promoter Iaka. In 2005, after a two year break, it was relaunched as a netlabel for Drum&Bass, Electronica and Experimental music featuring German as well as international artists.

Elliottgregg – Thank you, so very much / Organic – OUT NOW!

426247_334092386641924_1394112372_n

Courtesy of new label Remit Sounds, Elliottgregg’s latest release ‘Thank you, so much / Organic’ is the perfect example of what this promising new bass driven house, garage and techno label are trying to achieve.

Whilst delivering a healthy dose of 4/4 bass, ‘Thank you, so much’ crescendo’s into a what can only be described as a technicolor synth explosion for your ears! Only to drop back down to the house and techno beats that we know and love. Organic however harks back to what we love about house and garage crossovers and drops a wining bass to die for!

A solid release for what promises to be a label to look out for, keep your eyes on here for more from them in the future.

Check the previews below.
